What is OmniPower™
History of OmniPower™ & Royal Power Energy
Royal Power Energy, Inc. (RPE) is a power solutions, technology, and distribution company focused on energy efficiency. It was founded around 2015 with the core idea of delivering clean energy savings by addressing power inefficiencies, particularly poor power factor (PF) in electrical systems. The company draws on its team’s engineering expertise to develop and deploy innovative solutions that reduce energy consumption, lower carbon footprints, minimize equipment wear, and increase grid hosting capacity without major infrastructure builds.
OmniPower™ is RPE’s flagship product: a patented, custom-built, enclosure-based Automatic Power Factor Correction System (APFC). It integrates hardware (multiple capacitor stages, soft switches, active/passive harmonic filters, and load balancers) with software for real-time, continuous monitoring and dynamic adjustment of power factor to a target of ~0.98. Unlike static capacitor banks, it automatically corrects PF, reduces total power demand (kW/kVA), lowers harmonics and line currents, and returns excess capacity to the grid. It has been commercially available since 2015 and typically delivers 8–18% (and up to 20–40% in some cases) savings on electricity bills, plus CO₂ reductions and extended equipment life. The system is tailored to each customer’s load profile (e.g., data centers, commercial/industrial facilities) and can be installed in parallel without interrupting power.

Company Leadership
Inventor and key figure: Frank J. Spano (Founder, President & CEO). With a bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and decades of experience owning companies that built data centers and communication networks, Spano observed recurring issues with “unclean” electricity—voltage surges, dips, and PF losses damaging equipment. He developed OmniPower™ to solve these problems at scale, combining physical hardware with APFC software for automated efficiency and decarbonization. He oversees R&D, operations, marketing, and sales.

Utilities can rely on this EPRI proven validation of patented technology and is supported by state licienced PE/EE on each project. (reduced kW/kWh/kVA/kVAR, line losses, and upstream multiplier effects—e.g., 1 MW gained at the customer can avoid ~3 MW of generation/transmission/distribution capacity). This power qualifies OmniPower™ as a non-wire alternative (NWA) in Integrated System Plans (ISPs). Regulators and IRPs increasingly prioritize NWAs over traditional “wire” solutions (new substations, lines, transformers) because they are faster, cheaper, and lower-carbon. The independent EPRI stamp provides the rigorous, auditable data utilities require for:
Accelerated interconnection agreements (faster approvals for new loads like data centers or renewables by freeing up existing grid capacity).
Deferring or avoiding expensive new electrical infrastructure (reduced capital spend and rate impacts).
Regulatory approval, carbon credits/rebates, and inclusion in rate cases or procurement.
